1. Certification Introduction

NF is the designation for French standards, implemented since 1938, with its governing body being the French Standardization Association (AFNOR). France develops a standard revision plan every three years, with adjustments made annually. The French Standardization Association guides the technical work of 17 major standardization planning groups (GPN) and coordinates their efforts with the Planning Committee (COP). Each planning group is guided by a Strategic Orientation Committee (COS), which brings together decision-makers from relevant economic sectors. It is also responsible for identifying priority tasks, participating in funding searches, and allocating budgets for planned projects.
